🚨 EU Dual-Use Export Controls: Key takeaways from the 2024 Report 🌍
The European Commission's latest report highlights several significant developments reflecting the impact of two years of the war in Ukraine on EU Dual-Use trade and export controls :
📈 The total value of authorised dual-use exports increased from €57.3 billion in 2022 to €77.6 billion in 2024, representing around 3% of extra-EU exports.
🗺️ Geopolitical priorities continue to reshape trade: Exports to Ukraine have more than tripled in value since 2022. At the same time, China (25%) and the United States (21%) remain the main destinations for individual and general export authorisations.
⚠️ Hungary, France and Belgium are the main destinations of intra-EU flows of highly sensitive dual-use goods and technologies (Annex IV).
👮♂️ Think the authorities aren't watching? Reported trade infringements skyrocketed by 145% and actual penalties rose nearly fivefold !
🧐 Qu'est-ce que cela signifie pour les exportateurs de l'UE ?
